The BKA is currently running a three-tier qualification – a Certificate of Professional Practice in The Kodály Concept of Music Education. CPD accreditation is currently being sought at three levels and has been approved for Level One. The Australian Kodály Certificate (AKC) is the only Australian fully accredited and nationally recognised program of teacher training in the Kodály concept. This course provides pre-service, current classroom and studio music teachers with the skills and knowledge to deliver a sequential, cumulative, developmental and aural-based music curriculum. Kodály certificate courses run for two weeks each July. Students generally complete their three levels during three consecutive summers. Each level includes four two-week courses, with four credits at each level for a total of 12 credits.
